Homemade oat milk chai latte is a drink you'll want to make over and over again. Make it in just 15 minutes with only 6 ingredients. This sweet and creamy spiced latte will cost only a fraction of what most cafes charge.
Brew espresso - Combine 1 tablespoon of ground coffee per ½ cup hot water. Steep coffee grinds for 5 minutes and then strain. Note: I used a fresh press to brew my espresso.
Add a handful of ice to your serving glass, and pour the chai concentrate over the ice along with 2 shots of espresso and cardamom syrup or maple syrup, if desired.
Pour over the oat milk and stir till combined. Dust with cinnamon before serving.Note: Use an electric frother or hand-held frother to froth milk before pouring into the chai concentrate.
To serve hot: Add chai concentrate, espresso, sweetener into a serving cup and mix together to combine. Then pour over steamed milk and dust with cinnamon powder.
NOTES
Sweeten to taste: Add more or less of the cardamom syrup to suit your taste.
Froth: Don’t skip the milk frother for a light and airy consistency! You can also achieve a similar texture with a blender or French press to froth the oat milk.
Oat milk: For the most traditional chai latte with oat milk texture, choose barista oat milk. Nothing else really compares!
