This pumpkin pie protein shake is thick, creamy, and packed with cozy pumpkin spice flavor. Made with pumpkin purée, frozen bananas, vanilla protein powder, soy milk, and warm spices, it packs 36 grams of plant-based protein into every shake. It’s completely vegan and comes together in just 5 minutes for an easy breakfast, snack, or post-workout treat.
INGREDIENTS
⅓cupvanilla protein powder I use Ritual as my go-to brand
⅓cuppure pumpkin purée canned
1cupsoy milk (unsweetened)I prefer Soy Beverage from Trader Joe's
1cupfrozen banana
1tablespoonalmond butter
¼teaspoonpumpkin pie spice
¼teaspooncinnamon powder
Toppings (Optional)
dollopvegan whipped cream
sprinklecinnamon powder
pinchcrushed pecans
METHOD
Blend: Add the soy milk first, followed by the remaining ingredients. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Adjust: If too thick, add a splash of soy milk and blend again.
Serve: Pour into a glass and enjoy right away. Top with vegan whipped cream, crushed pecans, and cinnamon, if desired.
NOTES
Use ripe frozen bananas: Freeze bananas chunks when they’re ripe and spotty for a naturally sweeter, thick, creamy shake without ice.
Adjust the consistency: Protein powders thicken differently, so add extra soy milk a splash at a time if needed.
Make it banana-free: Replace the frozen bananas with ½ cup vegan vanilla yogurt. I prefer Icelandic-style oat milk yogurt for a creamy texture.
Check the sweetness: Taste before adding sweetener since ripe bananas and vanilla protein powder may be sweet enough on their own.
